Mensaje de Marco Reus: I will come back!

Hello dear fans,

After there has been a lot said about me in the past few days, I would like to take this opportunity to personally inform you about my health.

Unfortunately, the adductor injury came back again in the DFB Cup final and has continued to worsen as the game progressed. Then I have tried everything working together with the DFB doctors for 10 days to be fit again for the European Championship. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the results we hoped for at this time so that I could be ready for the coming games in France. Since the doctors couldn’t give a positive perspective towards the Euros, we have jointly decided after a discussion with the national team coach, that it wouldn’t be a good idea for my health and the big goals the team has set for this tournament, to travel with the team to France.

The most important thing in the coming weeks will be recovering from the injury, to be 100% fit and ready to play not only for Borussia Dortmund, but also for the national team again!

I would like to thank the medical department of DFB for your great support!

Furthermore, I would like to thank you all for the many recovery and birthday wishes! They give me a lot of strength and mean a lot to me!

I wish Joachim Loew and the team success and all the best at the European Championship in France!
